is seeking an Assistant/Associate Professor of Mathematics Education with experience and credentials in P-5 or 4-8 or 6-12 teaching to teach
and provide professional and University service in support of the College’s Teacher Education programs.

College is seeking an Assistant/Associate Professor of Mathematics Education with experience and credentials in P-5 or 4-8 or 6-12 teaching
to teach and provide professional and University service in support of the College’s Teacher Education programs. Reporting to the Assistant
Dean, the successful candidate will be housed at either the Henry or Douglas regional academic center and teach in our Elementary/Special
Education (P-5) and Secondary Education (6-12) Bachelor of Science in Education (B.S.Ed.) initial certification programs and in one or more
of the College’s graduate programs. The position is a 9-month tenure-track appointment, with the opportunity for summer employment. The
salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
The successful candidate must have qualifications and
credentials commensurate with the rank of Assistant Professor or higher. The successful candidate will have expertise in mathematics
education, collaborate with public school representatives and university faculty, and advocate for STEM teaching and research initiatives
within the University and the community. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in programs in our regional
academic centers (Atlanta, Douglas County, Henry County, and Macon); participating on committees as assigned; engaging in scholarly
research; supervising student teachers and interns; developing and participating in partnerships with public schools; serving on doctoral
committees; and working collaboratively with colleagues to support and build programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Our B.S.Ed.
programs delivered through the regional academic centers are blended (online/in-person components) and online (synchronous and asynchronous
online components). The successful candidate will be expected to provide service at the program and unit levels. It is also expected that
the successful candidate will participate in activities of programmatic development and professional development linked to instructional
quality and student success, as well as service to the professional and University communities. Additionally, it is expected that the
successful candidate will contribute to an environment of professionalism and collaboration within the initial certification programs and
across our undergraduate and graduate teacher education programs and the College.
Qualifications:
Required:
Earned doctorate in Mathematics Education or related field from an accredited
university/college (completed by August 2023).
Evidence of at least 3 years of successful P-5, 4-8, or 6-12 teaching
experience
Evidence of experiences with diverse school populations and culturally responsive curriculum and pedagogy
Evidence of experience developing and delivering high-quality instruction in an in-person format and a virtual or blended
format, both synchronous and asynchronous
Superior interpersonal, organizational, and oral and written communication
skills
Ability to support a culture of collaboration, inclusion, equity, and diversity
Preferred:
Evidence of expertise or teaching experience in a content area in addition to mathematics in
Elementary, Middle, and Secondary grades
Evidence of an additional area of expertise (e.g., dyslexia, ESOL, instructional
design, literacy, or online teaching
