MedStar Washington Hospital Center is seeking physicians who are board eligible or board certified in both Cardiovascular Medicine and Critical Care Medicine to join our Medical Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CICU) team. The CICU is a 16-bed American Heart Association level 1 cardiac ICU with over 1,400 admissions annually.
In this role, you will lead a multidisciplinary team of Cardiology and Critical Care Fellows, Residents, Interns, advanced practice providers, clinical pharmacists and dedicated CICU nurses. The MedStar Washington Hospital Center / Georgetown University Hospital cardiology, cardiac surgery and critical care programs provide comprehensive care to a robust and diverse patient population, including complex percutaneous structural interventions, LVAD and cardiac transplant for patients with advanced heart failure and advanced mechanical circulatory support for cardiogenic shock.
Interested providers may have the opportunity to allocate their FTE between the Medical CICU and another area of interest such as the surgical CICU, non-invasive cardiology, or research is encouraged. Dual appointment to the departments of cardiology and critical care medicine is available.
