JOB DESCRIPTION Analyzes, processes, and resolves the credit balance receivables by determining reason for outstanding credit and recommends resolution. Attends training sessions and workshops offered, to include but not limited to, CRCS-I Training, bulletin review, etc. Attends and successfully completes required Continuing Education Units (CEU) for the PFS Training Program. Completes annual mandatory training (SITEL) within defined time frame. Contributes to the achievement of established department and Patient Financial Services goals and objectives, and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations. Keeps abreast of regulatory and specific changes as it relates to payment processing and payor requirements for issuing refunds/retractions. Maintains daily performance benchmarks as it relates to credit balance receivables; reviews accounts every day. Maintains departmental QA standards within established error rate. Meets team specific benchmark as it applies to BSI-X report, credits > $10K, and Customer Service refund requests. Participates in PFS workgroups, staff meetings and work events. Performs other duties as assigned.

General Summary of Position
Hybrid position working remotely at home except for 2 days in the office every 8th week. Office located in Nottingham, Maryland.
Analyzes, processes and resolves the credit balance receivables by verifying and issuing refunds, completing payment transfers, and correcting adjustments. Determines reason for outstanding credits and recommends resolutions. Complies with all Federal, State and Payer regulations and requirements for timely processing of overpayments. Meets productivity and quality standards and achieves benchmarks as they pertain to job responsibilities. Uses manual and automated processes to complete these functions, and provides input regarding software usage and development.

Minimum Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required
Experience
- 1-2 years’ experience in patient accounting or related field required or
- An equivalent combination of experience and college education in related field required and
- Knowledge of credit balance analysis required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong commitment to quality and customer service.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient use of personal computers as well as Microsoft Excel and Word applications.
- Ability to think independently and use all available resources in determining the best course of action for resolving credit balances and processing refunds.
