Class Description
A Community Health Nurse Supervisor II plans, develops and implements a community health-nursing program or supervises nurse supervisors. Work of this class involves directing the activities of nursing and office work units. Incumbents receive general supervision from a technical superior. Employees in this class work a conventional workweek. Work is performed in an office where there are no uncomfortable working conditions. Work requires minimal physical exertion.

The license, training, and experience of each candidate will be evaluated for appropriateness and quantity. Minimum Qualifications:
On or before the date of filing the application, each candidate must:
EDUCATION: Have a master’s degree in nursing or a related field from an accredited college or university. AND
EXPERIENCE: Have four years of experience as a registered nurse, two of which must have been in community health nursing, including one year of supervising community health nurses with responsibility for disciplining, evaluating the performance of and recommending the hiring, firing and promoting of such staff.
OR
NOTES (EQUIVALENCIES): Have one year of additional experience may be substituted for the master’s degree. Non-supervisory experience or education may not be substituted for the required supervisory experience.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, AND CERTIFICATIONS:Have a current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Maryland or registered nurse licensure from a Multi-State Licensure Compact participant state is required.
EXAMINATION PROCESS:

The examination will consist of a rating of your education, training, and experience as presented on your application and as they relate to the requirements of the position. Therefore, it is important that you provide complete and accurate information on your application.
NOTE: Those eligible under final consideration for appointment to some positions in this class will be required to authorize the release of criminal conviction information and successfully pass a fingerprint and background investigation.
