Position description
The Practice Support Trainer assesses, develops, plans, and implements training and understanding to Medical Administrative Assistants (MAA). Shares knowledge and expertise for new training technologies and tools. Ensures the orientation curriculum and training resources are accurate and effectively implemented to achieve proficiencies. Assists with creating educational resources, such as guides, recordings, videos, and other products. Provides training for new employee hires and continuing education for current employees. Coordinates with leadership to ensure educational resources are applicable and current. Serves as a Subject Matter Expert. Communicates effectively with department staff on training and development opportunities.
Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor’s Degree or a High School diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of experience in a healthcare operational area such as scheduling, desk system, and/or administrative secretarial support. Requires well-developed interpersonal, organizational, customer service, critical thinking/problem solving and written/oral communication skills. Teaching experience in computer application and thorough understanding and application of educational principles. Relevant training skills and experience required. Experience with technologies and best practices for instructional manuals and teaching platforms. Strong project management skills with the ability to supervise multiple projects, work independently, prioritize work load to meet deadlines and must be detail oriented. Requires knowledge of the administrative and practice operations support areas.
Additional qualifications
Experience: Previous administrative secretarial experience or equivalent preferred. Job Knowledge: General knowledge of institutional practice and policies preferred. Requires excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to effectively interact with a variety of audiences, assertively pursue necessary information and function independently. A high degree of organizational skills, attention to detail, ability and patience to teach, capacity to learn quickly and assimilate volumes of information is required. Must be customer service oriented, timely in responses to requests for service and information and able to manage multiple tasks and priorities. Must be flexible and adaptable in changing environment. Must have the ability to work independently and possess strong leadership skills.
