Position description The Medical Equipment Systems Specialist (MESS) is responsible for the support, maintenance, and installation, of workstations, network devices, medical equipment, and multiple operating systems and software packages. The MESS is responsible for maintaining and updating documentation and assisting with purchasing decisions on assigned equipment in supported areas. The MESS acquires, maintains and shares technical skills necessary to become and remain competent and proficient on the assigned equipment which integrates biomedical technologies with information systems. The MESS is responsible for cross-training additional service technicians, must prioritize their work appropriately to provide quick response to service calls and work necessary overtime or on-call as required. The MESS works effectively with and provides assistance and direction to support staff across departmental organizations. The MESS should be customer focused, have good communication and interpersonal skills. Qualifications Authorization to work and remain in the United States, without necessity for Mayo Clinic sponsorship now, or in the future (for example, be a U.S. Citizen, national, or permanent resident, refugee, or asylee). Also, Mayo Clinic does not participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program. Additional qualifications This position is to support/maintain Patient Care Communication Systems (PCCS). PCCS systems historically been referred to as “nurse call” systems.
