Responsible for providing advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) training to physicians, nurses and other allied health care personnel.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Indicate key areas of responsibility, major job duties, special projects and key objectives for this position. These items should be evaluated throughout the year and included in the written annual evaluation.
• Provides hands on training in advanced cardiac life support.
• Lectures on ACLS-related topics during the didactic portion of the course.
• Follows the ACLS training guidelines propagated by the American Heart Association.
• Maintains ACLS provider certification by taking ACLS training every 2 years.
• Obtains their ACLS instructor certification through instructor training and maintains this certification through providing provider training to others under the direction of the ACLS program director.
SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED: Must be realistic, objective, measurable and related to essential functions of this job.
Demonstrated proficiency in ACLS provider training as noted by the ACLS program director.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, and/or REGISTRATIONS (if applicable): Specify minimum credentials and clearly indicate if preferred or required
American Heart Association certification as an ACLS Instructor required.
EDUCATION: Specify minimum education and clearly indicate if preferred or required
Training in an allied health profession preferred (MD, RN, EMT, etc).
EXPERIENCE: Specify minimum creditable years of experience and clearly indicate if preferred or required
1 or more year of experience in an allied health profession preferred (MD, RN, EMT, etc)
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY (if applicable): List the number of FTEs supervised.

FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY (if applicable): Indicate financial “scope” information, i.e.: size of budget, volume, revenue, etc.; Indicate total physician/non-physician FTE scope
