Reporting to the CSPS Customer Service Manager and within established hospital and departmental policies, the Service Line Resource Technician is the central point of contact for inventory requests from Service Line Coordinators; including instruments, soft goods, and specialty supplies. Service Line Resource Technicians gather requested supplies and delivers them to appropriate location as directed by Service Line Coordinators. Additionally, Service Line Resource Technicians are responsible for returning unused instruments, soft goods, and specialty supplies to appropriate stock locations as appropriate. The Service Line Resource Technician supports and supplements the case pick process during off-peak times and as directed by management
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
– Provides operational support to the Peri-Operative Nursing team by providing direct support to Service Line Coordinator Team.
– Assists in the fulfillment of priority inventory requests by efficiently retrieving items and delivering them to appropriate drop off locations.
– Ensures the accuracy of the needs list by scanning items to intended case cart and/or Operating Room. Adjust any updated case information as necessary.
– Update case information utilizing SPM as necessary and as directed by Service Line Coordinator Team.
– Capable of working within a matrix team environment, demonstrates initiative and the ability to prioritize workloads under stressful and changing situations.
– Develop working knowledge of instruments, soft goods, and specialty supplies for all services.
– Assist in providing temporary coverage for Service Line Coordinator when needed and as directed by Customer Service Manager.
– Must be able to locate and provide specialty supplies and specialty instrumentations for any service.
– Performs external package integrity check on all items prior to transport i.e. Wrap integrity, container locks present, class 1 external indicator change etc.
– Handles sterile items appropriately during transport to maintain package integrity. Alerts Service Line Coordinator of delays in delivery when packaging concerns arise.
– Supports and supplements the case pick process as operationally necessary or as directed by leadership.
– Identifies and collects unused surgical supplies and returns them to stock locations for future use.
