POSITION SUMMARY:
The Massachusetts General Hospital Center for Aging and Serious Illness (CASI), a research center within the Mongan Institute and affiliated with the Division of Palliative Care and Geriatric Medicine, seeks a Program Manager to add to our dynamic and growing team. The mission of the Center for Aging and Serious Illness is to better understand the needs of those living with serious illness and their caregivers, develop new interventions, improve current treatments, and explore new questions at the intersection of aging and serious illness. The research team is responsible for a growing number of clinical studies, observational studies, investigator-initiated primary care, hospital-based and community-based implementation studies. We support the growth of early career investigators and serve as a convener for aging and serious illness research conversations.
The Program Manager is responsible for supporting a variety of research training programs and activities within the Center for Aging and Serious Illness (CASI) under the direction of the Research Administrative Manager and the Center Director. The Program Manager is expected to work independently to manage day-to-day administrative and operational needs of our training programs. They will provide both administrative supervision and support to all T32 trainees. Tasks will include overseeing trainee/fellow stipends, travel and tuition costs, managing the program/schedule announcements to recruit trainees, assisting with booking travel for trainees. The Program Manager will work closely with the Center Director to support program operations as an administrative liaison to the other faculty on this program when needed, managing the overall budget, developing the annual NIH progress report (RPPR), and updating the research outcomes from this program. For our R25 program this will also include the execution of all aspects of the curriculum and evaluation.
For both training programs, the program manager is expected to ensure program deliverables by executing on project deadlines, planning in advance to assure regular communication with key stakeholders and coordinate event logistics. They will also develop and monitor program budgets, marketing strategies, and trainee/attendee participation, for review by leadership team members & stakeholders.
In sum, the Program Manager is responsible for the logistical fulfillment and compliance monitoring of research training activities. They develop, coordinate, and advise on assigned programs and projects to ensure compliance with sponsor requirements, MGH policies, and MGH procedures to meet program deliverables and goals. The Program Manager must be highly organized, have an attention to detail and be capable of managing the logistics of multiple projects and events simultaneously. They will ensure the success of the research training programs.

• Fast paced and dynamic academic research hospital setting.
• Typical work hours are Monday through Friday days, but may vary based upon individual event demands, up to and including periodic evenings and weekend days.
• MGH Main Campus, but periodic travel to other Mass General Brigham Healthcare system, non-MGB program locations and event locations will be necessary.
• Telecommuting options available, hybrid on-site and remote work.
FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY:
Develop and implement training program budgets with Course Directors and Education Program Manager. Develop and implement program event budgets with program and administrative leadership.QUAIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s Degree, plus 3-5 years of project management experience required
• Institutional Research Training Grant coordination experience is highly desirable.
