The Opportunity: Patient Care Associate | Yawkey 8 – Infusion Unit
At Massachusetts General Hospital, the Medical Infusion Center (MIC) is dedicated to delivering exceptional care to patients with a wide range of medical conditions in a safe, comfortable, and compassionate environment. Our highly skilled nursing staff, including on-site Nurse Practitioners, have extensive experience in administering cutting-edge infusion therapies for a wide range of complex conditions. Our team collaborates closely with referring providers from clinical specialties across Mass General. MIC patients receive consistent care throughout their treatment visits. All appointments are characterized by commitment to the highest standards of quality, safety, and training.
Yawkey 8 Infusion Unit is a sixty bed/chair infusion unit in the Division of Hematology-Oncology. There are eighteen beds and forty-two chairs.
The hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7 AM to 8 PM and Saturday from 8 AM to 6 PM.

Why This Role Is Important?
The Patient Care Associate (PCA) will assist the RNs in the Infusion Unit with a variety of functions including phlebotomy and EKGs, transport patients, check rooms and equipment, assist patients with dressing and feeding and some clerical functions. Our Patient Care Associate team prides themselves in responding to patient requests in a timely manner, safeguarding patient confidentiality, monitoring patient safety, and always communicating in a respectful manner.

• Preferred : Must have recent experience, and/or training, in clinical patient care.
• Required: Licensed, certified or enrolled student in a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, Mental Health Technician, or EMT accredited program, at the time of hire, OR Candidate enrolled in a Nursing program with at least one semester of patient care rotations completed at time of hire, Pre-Med or PA undergraduate program.
