Under the direction of a registered nurse (RN), the Patient Care Associate (PCA) assists the multi-disciplinary health care team in clinical support functions to promote a safe, compassionate patient care environment. PCA assists patients with daily living needs, monitoring & reading vital signs, drawing blood, obtaining EKGs. PCA role on EDOU includes admissions and discharges, phlebotomy, hourly rounding.
