Receiving general direction from the, the Chief of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology, the Associate Chief Nurse for Ambulatory, the MGfC Executive Director, and the MGfC Medical Director, the Pediatric Ambulatory Nurse Director oversees clinical nursing practice in the Hematology and Oncology Division the specialty ambulatory nursing team and clinical practice, and the phlebotomy operation in collaboration with division physician and administrative leadership, and provides nursing leadership support for ambulatory nursing practice broadly for all of Pediatrics.
The nurse director is accountable for the delivery of consistent, high-quality patient and family centered care, promoting the development and satisfaction of nursing and support staff careers, providing operating efficiencies and standardization, and ensuring compliance with hospital and regulatory policies and standards of practice.
Drawing on a broad understanding of hospital and physician group practices and policies, and displaying a high degree of initiative and independent judgment, the incumbent will collaborate closely with MGfC clinical and administrative leadership to continually assess and direct a wide range of issues focused on nursing and clinical operations, and participation in the Department of Nursing, MGfC, and MGH groups and committees. The nurse director serves as part of the MGfC outpatient leadership team, with emphasis on quality and safety initiatives and implementation of clinical practice standards, operational efficiencies, and standardization, and collaborates with leadership in identification of current and future service needs and shares responsibility for meeting these needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:
MSN in Nursing required.
Current Massachusetts licensure as a registered nurse
3-5 years experience in ambulatory pediatric nursing practice required, experience in Hematology and Oncology preferred.
A minimum of five years Management experience required.
