Patient Care Services (PCS) Finance and Analytics (F&A) provides review, analysis, and evaluation of management data, systems and programs to support the leadership of Patient Care Services in assuring effective decision-making and optimum utilization of personnel, material, and financial resources.
The Health Data Analyst II will be responsible for acquisition, analysis, interpretation, modeling and reporting of staffing and administrative data to support clinical and operational programs and activities. The Data Analyst II works directly with the other members of the PCS F&A team as well as PCS leadership and individuals at various levels throughout the organization. S/he will also collaborate with other analytic resources across PCS to identify efficiencies in data management and reporting. S/he must be able to work independently and collaboratively to develop staffing models, financial, productivity and operational metrics, and document data requirements according to project specifications. The Health Data Analyst II will help to maintain various databases and be accountable for the timely and accurate production of routine monitoring reports as well as special projects. S/he will demonstrate initiative and creativity in accessing, aggregating and analyzing data from various healthcare administration databases/reports and provide support to customers and colleagues in managing and interpreting data. This requires the ability to engage in systematic problem solving and innovative thinking; attention to detail; customer focus and excellent communication; and a tolerance for ambiguity, changing priorities and unexpected events. S/he will need to exhibit an ability to manipulate and interpret large databases in an academic medical center environment and evolve the data reporting systems to meet the needs of the changing healthcare environment.
