Logistician I

As a Logistician I, you will be a part of the team supporting NSWCPD Codes 315, Provisioning and Supply Support Branch. You will handle a variety of program management tasks related to supporting US Navy Hull, Machinery, and Electrical (HM&E) Systems and Equipment, NSWCPD Code 315 serves as the conduit between NSWCPD’s Technical Codes/In-Service Engineering Agents (ISEA) and the Navy’s SEA21 and PEO Program Offices for New Acquisition and In-Service Ships, responsible for internally managing cost/resources, schedule/time, technical performance and risk associated with tasks assigned to NSWCPD.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Review, verify, evaluate, manage DMS cases to closure
• Generate quad chart as required with ISEA input
• Support and attend LCMG conference and perform data pulls by system for ISEA SHA development
• Review SHA results for DMS items, coordinate with Point of Contact for issues related to that program, and track completion status of DMS activity related to issues.
• Perform investigations and analyze support data to determine supportability timeframes and support strategies, not just at the individual part level but at the system level based on a roll up of the individual parts analysis.
• Provide status reports and updates to DMSMS program management.
• Coordinate/develop support requirements for specific tasks, monthly task performance, and status reports
• Perform investigations and analyze data for various emergent issues, data calls, etc.
• Provide coordination between LCE DMS team, provider, customer, and user and continuous interfacing with technical community (ISEA/Engineers/OEMs/vendors).
• Assist in the development of strategies and proposals for overall management of program.
• Represent NSWCPD Code 315 at various internal and external meetings.

Required Education, Skills, and Experience:

• Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret clearance
• Bachelor’s Degree in related field – US Navy experience in lieu of education will be considered.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a DoD or Navy support role.
• Familiar with HM&E equipment configurations and systems for US Navy 
• Ability to clearly and effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
• Knowledge of general project management terms, standards and processes.
• Ability to investigate issues, coordinate data calls and inputs, and develop reports and provide recommendations.
• Ability to professionally represent NSWCPD, Codes 315.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• High comfort level working with and around all military/organizational levels, clients, suppliers, and visitors.
• Ability to work independently and as a team member.
• Ability to coordinate and evaluate the efforts of functional specialists to identify specific requirements and to develop and adjust plans and schedules for the actions needed to meet each requirement on time.

Preferred Education, Skills, and Experience:

• General understanding of HM&E Systems.
• Knowledge of DoD/Navy funding process.
• Use of data analysis tools and methods.
• Must be highly reliable and capable of meeting work schedule consistently.
• Ability to handle a high volume of work with accuracy and efficiency.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
• Strong decision making ability and attention to detail.
• Ability to support sponsor positions, while working with other team members who have competing priorities.

Physical Demands and Expectations:

• Regular physical activity to include walking, climbing stairs, and standing; frequent periods of prolonged sitting may be required.
• Ability to speak, read, hear, and write, with or without assistance.
• Ability to use phone and computer systems, copier, fax and other office equipment
