Title : Documentation Specialist (Remote Option Available)

Location : Tallahassee, FL | Duration : Full Time

Required Skills and Experience

• 10% travel will be required on as needed basis.
• Experience in requirement gathering, conduct analysis, writing RFI, RFQ, RFPs and other related documents.
• Experience working directly with technical team to develop accurate and persuasive content for qualifications, proposals, and reports.
• Think out of the box and make recommendations for standard templates and documentation process improvement.
• High proficiency in the MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project), Adobe Acrobat, and SharePoint.
• Excellent Writing Skills: Strong command of grammar, punctuation, and style is crucial for creating persuasive and well-structured proposals.
• Research Skills: The ability to gather and synthesize information from various sources is essential for crafting well-informed proposals.
• Technical Writing: Proposals involve technical or scientific content; candidates should have a background or aptitude for technical writing.
• Project Management: Proposal writers often work on tight deadlines, so project management skills are essential for managing time effectively.
• Communication Skills: Proposal writers need to collaborate with various teams and stakeholders, so strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Editing and Proofreading: The ability to review and edit proposals for clarity, consistency, and errors.
• Storytelling: Ability to craft compelling narratives that resonate with clients and convey the value of your offerings.
• Adaptability: Proposal requirements can vary greatly. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to adapt writing style and approach to different clients and industries.
• Attention to Detail: Proposals often contain critical information. The ability to show meticulous attention to detail is a must to ensure accuracy.
• Time Management: Meeting proposal deadlines is crucial. Candidates should be skilled in time management and prioritization.
• Bachelor’s Degree: Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as English, communications, or business.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Sometimes challenges arise during the proposal process. Candidate must show problem-solving skills for finding creative solutions.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the Transportation industry with an understanding of public agency needs to tailor proposal responses accordingly.
• Certifications: Candidates who have certifications in proposal writing or related fields, such as the Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) certification.
• Portfolio: Request writing samples or a portfolio of previous proposals or similar documents to assess a candidate’s writing quality and style.
