Supports daily testing and quality oversight of all Private and Exclusive Brand production. Ensures products are tested and inspected to Kohl’s safety and labeling standards and conforms to the established contracted quality standards. Communicates results and recommendations with all partners in the supply chain e.g. Vendors, Agents, Product Managers, Merchants, and Third Party service providers.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Certification and Empowerment
- Own Vendor Lab Certification process and analysis to verify if vendors have the capability to conduct their own performance testing
- Support partnership with third party labs to validate vendor ability through correlation testing
- Evaluate vendor labs on a yearly basis to ensure that all proper protocols and practices are being followed
- Daily Activities
- Monitor QA/PI inbox and promptly respond to any and all inquiries relating to the testing and quality review processes
- Direct inquiries to CFT partners as needed
- Assist Leadership and all partners in the supply chain e.g. Vendors, Agents, Product Managers, Merchants, and Third Party service providers with special projects as needed
- Data Management
- Support developing master data architecture to service all GPS partners
- Compress data from multiple systems into one unified master file
- Compile data from all systems to create a uniformed approach and outcome
- Enforcement of Compliance
- Support enforcement of compliance to all federal, state, and local regulations
- Support enforcement of compliance to key performance indicators
- Support enforcement of compliance to all policies and procedures
- Factory Technical Audit
- Own assessment of the quality management, production management and risk capacity for factories
- Ensure that processes are documented, pre-production meetings occur, in-line inspections occur, etc.
- Verify that factories can consistently provide products that meet both regulatory and customer requirements
- Google Site Management
- Support update and maintainance of documents and reporting within the Google Site to ensure that all information is accurate, relevant, and up to date
- Inspectorio
- Support vendor onboarding with a high level overview of platform requirements and expectations
- Own inspection bookings and analysis for assigned product category or division
- Review CAPA (Corrective Action/Preventative Action) to ensure an actionable solution is proposed for the issue at hand
- Assist with internal and external communication and follow up based on outcome
- Protocols and Standards
- Assist in implementation of testing and inspection protocols, on Klink, using market research and safety studies
- Continuously review testing and inspection protocols to ensure they are up to date and published on Klink and shared with CFT partners
- Assist in implementation of pre-production testing and analysis
- Open communication with internal & external partners
- Quality Review Process
- Own process and analysis for assigned product category or division
- Facilitate sending samples for testing to independent third party labs, compile data and analysis
- Help drive outcome for each QRP (Corrective Action, Continuous Improvement, Settlement, as appropriate) in a timely manner
- Help drive internal and external communication and follow up based on outcome
- Document CAPA (Corrective Action/Preventative Action) to ensure it is implemented and protocols are developed for future execution
- Monitor all QIP activity for assigned product category or division
- Quarterly Quality Meetings
- Support quarterly analysis of KPIs (Key Performance Indicators)
- Support vendor performance scorecarding and analysis
- Help drive vendor communication and follow up based on performance
- Risk Assessments
- Support conducting seasonal meetings to establish what products will be introduced for assigned product category or division
- Compile and evaluate possible issues or concerns that may arise with the implementation of the new products
- Assess whether the product should undergo further testing
- Guide Technical Design and Production Teams on how to change or adjust products and any related warnings that should be added
- RSL (Restricted Substances List) Compliance
- Help drive policies and procedures to ensure all practices comply with the most recent safety regulations and standards
- Support validation of compliance within execution of Private and Exclusive Brand management
- Store Audit Review
- Assist in quarterly process and analysis for all Private and Exclusive Brands
- Drive vendor communication and follow up based on performance
- Document CAPA (Corrective Action/Preventative Action), if appropriate, to ensure it is implemented and protocols are developed for future execution
- Sustainability Certification and Enforcement
- Validate compliance with sustainable claims
- Support chemical management projects, including RLS/MRSL compliance
- Support advocation for sustainable fibers and fabrics
- Test Report and Inspection Review
- Help lead and own seasonal product line reviews and provide documented feedback and reporting
- Own research and analysis on Federal, State, and Local Laws and Voluntary Recalls
- Drive and own testing to be conducted during product development stage and inspections on bulk product before shipment
- Review and own analysis of testing and inspection results, provide guidance and facilitate what/where changes are needed when failures arise
- Support Trim Team with any and all product trims that need testing
- Training
- Assist in training new hires, interns, vendors, suppliers, agents and provide policy updates periodically
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Requirements
- Minimum 2+ years of testing, quality, technical or related experience
- Proficient in Excel, Word, Google, One PLM
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Keen attention to detail
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment with critical deadlines
- Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in business or technical field, or related industry experience
