Janssen Research & Development is recruiting for an Intern, located in Pennsylvania

This is an intern position within the Immunology Translational Medicine (TM) Clinical Science group. The Clinical Science group consists of both Clinical Scientists who are responsible for designing, implementing, analyzing, and interpreting early development clinical studies as well as Translational Clinical Medical Leads who are focused on the strategy for medical review, surveillance, and interpretation of safety findings in clinical pharmacology and other early development studies within the Immunology therapeutic area of Janssen R&D. This job provides an opportunity to learn more about early phase clinical drug development.

Key Responsibilities:

• With supervision, contribute to the development of tools that will improve clinical trial execution and functional Clinical Science processes
• With supervision, contribute to and drive other organizational process improvements for the Translational Medicine Clinical Science group.
• Understand and be able to communicate the value of research projects to others in the group
• Analyze, interpret and integrate information to support project goals/decisions etc.
• Work independently and ideally contributes creative ideas and solutions to project goals and challenges
• Remote work option available

Qualifications

Education:

• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and must not require sponsorship for employment visa status now, or in the future (ex. H1-B) F-1 Visa. Students should be under OPT /CPT program is required for STEM roles
• Some undergraduate courses in the biological sciences (e.g. immunology, or other relevant areas)
• Majors as: Immunology, Pre-med, microbiology, chemistry, Medicine, Nursing , others related
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
• Grade level: sophomore, Junior, Senior

Pay rate is determined based on the grade level at time of offer. Undergrad Sophomore $22.75/hr, Undergrad Junior $24.50/hr, Undergrad Senior $26.00/hr, pursuing master’s degree $29.00/hr, MBA $40/hr pursuing PhD $45/hr

Experience and Skills:

1. Demonstrated interest in the pharmaceutical drug development process and /or medicine.
2. Strong organizational skills and able to provide timely feedback to manager for assigned projects. Strong written skills and penchant for documenting work.
3. Delivers work that can be integrated into existing processes or programs.
4. Actively participate in group meetings and intern-specific programs and aim to understand Janssen R&D, the role of the TM Clinical Science group as well as their contribution to the overall drug development process.
5. Comfortable engaging partners within the overall TM group (e.g. Translational Medicine Clinical Program Leads) and key partners in the wider Translational Science and Medicine department or other functional partners (e.g. Global Development, Data Management, etc.) to advance assigned projects.
