We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Supplier Development Engineering Manager to join our team. This is a permanent position in the fast-paced manufacturing industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the technical aspects of our supplier base, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring high performance and quality standards.

Responsibilities:

As a Supplier Development Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for:

1. Developing and implementing strategies to manage and improve supplier performance, including quality, cost, delivery, and service.
2. Providing engineering support to suppliers, including troubleshooting and problem-solving.
3. Building strong relationships with suppliers through effective communication and collaboration.
4. Supporting suppliers with technical expertise in areas such as injection molding, die casting, coatings, and wiring/harnessing.
5. Leading or supporting cost-saving projects, identifying opportunities for efficiency and cost reduction.
6. Acting as a liaison between the engineering and procurement departments, ensuring alignment of objectives and strategies.
7. Evaluating potential new suppliers from a technical perspective, ensuring they meet our standards and requirements.
8. Driving continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers, including lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other methodologies.

Qualifications:

To be considered for the Supplier Development Engineering Manager position, you must have:

1. An engineering degree from an accredited institution.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the automotive or manufacturing industry.
3. Proven experience providing engineering support to suppliers, including troubleshooting and problem-solving.
4. Strong relationship-building skills, with a track record of successful supplier management.
5. Experience with injection molding, die casting, coatings, and wiring/harnessing.
6. Experience leading or supporting cost-saving projects.
7. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to act as a liaison between different departments.
8. Commercial lighting experience is a plus.
