General Function: Directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the Human Resource function for the Plant. The Human Resources Manager provides and manages programs, and policies that attract, retain, train, and develop qualified teammates for the successful operation of the Plant.
Job Duties:
- Conducts recruitment and onboarding efforts for all exempt, non-exempt, and temporary personnel; writes and places advertisements and conducts new employee orientations and exit interviewing.
- Develops, recommends, and implements personnel policies and procedures; maintains and updates employee handbooks
- Coach, counsel, and assist managers in executing employee disciplinary actions; manage and track corrective actions.
- Performs benefits administration to include employee enrollments, wellness programs, claims processing, and resolution
- Maintain and update attendance, recruitment, training, and other employee-related information on web-based HRIS.
- Oversee and provide backup assistance for payroll processing and time and attendance schedules.
- Assists with the safety program, including OSHA training and accident investigations.
- Manages the updates of all job descriptions and training outlines as needed
- Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment; establish and maintain required department records and reports.
- Participate in staff meetings and attend other meetings, such as seminars and continuing education.
- Schedule and participate in Employee Appreciation events.
- Acts as a liaison with local colleges, schools, and businesses. Represents the Plant at community events when appropriate.
- Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
Working Conditions:
- Office environment with some exposure to a manufacturing environment
- Standing and walking 20% of work time.
- Flexible and additional hours as required, including weekends
Required Education, Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or other related fields
- At least five years of progressive Sr. Generalist or HR Management experience.
- Strong communication, both oral and written, and interpersonal skills; ability to build relationships at multiple levels to work cross-organizationally toward solutions
- Experience in administering group benefits and compensation programs and other Human Resources programs.
- Previous experience in processing payroll and knowledge of wage and hour laws; familiarity with Paycor or other payroll platforms is very beneficial for this role.
- Ability to manage and administer a broad range of tasks, including resolving complaints, counseling managers and employees on the interpretation of policies, and procedure
- Must have experience with FMLA, EEO, Worker’s Compensation, OSHA, and Affirmative Action administration and procedures.
- Demonstrated computer proficiency using MS Office Applications including Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Word
- Strong sense of integrity and ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information
- A high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, planning, and organizational skills
- Proficient in data analysis and identifying trends
