Position Summary
Assists Controller in organizations activities concerned with financial administration including the supervision of Accounting and Payroll. Maintains fiscal records, receipts, and disbursements, and payroll. Assists the Controller in continuing all hospital accounting systems to provide complete and accurate records of hospital assets, liabilities, and financial transactions. Reviews financial and statistical reports. Evaluates reducing costs of accounting operations and expediting workflow. Develops timely monthly reporting mechanism to report financial and other data to all management levels. Prepares ad hoc reports and projections. Assists in the preparation of the annual budget based on corporate and hospital goals.

Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree with major in Accounting or Finance.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years experience in general ledger accounting or financial statement reporting. Prior supervisory experience preferred. Familiar with accounting/finance principles and procedures. Knowledge of automated financial systems. PC-based analytical software, spreadsheets, word processing, and database experience required. 10 key by touch desired. Must be able to maintain confidentiality. Requires a high degree of accuracy despite frequent interruptions. Able to work in a fast paced environment which may require handling multiple tasks at once. Self-motivated and able to prioritize work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work overtime to complete projects on time.
Equipment Skills:
Proficiency in PC-based analytical, spreadsheet, word processing, and database software required. 10-key by touch desired.
Special Qualifications:
Communication skills, personnel management skills, and financial management skills. Must be analytical and objective in judgement. High degree of judgement, logic and complexity involved. Wide scope of activities relating to all aspects of the financial operation of the hospital. Requires the ability to develop working partnerships with all levels of management. The ability to explain the need for information and the end result of obtaining this information in clear, concise terms is paramount to the success of this position. Daily contacts with all levels of Administration and all Management Staff. Regular and frequent contact with Medical Staff and external customers. Requires positive interpersonal skills.
License:
CPA preferred.
