HMV Properties are looking for a General Manager to help us develop and implement our growth strategies. This position is best suited for candidates who have supervisory experience and reside in the Boone area and want to gain valuable experience in a managerial role with advancement potential. You will learn how to identify and apply important strategies and business processes within the hotel industry. You’ll get to know the nuts and bolts of our HMV Properties functions and operations and you’ll support our hotel management team with daily tasks such as forecasting occupancy, reading a Star report, and profit & loss statements, front office procedures, F& B, and budgeting, just to name a few disciples of the industry, and crafting performance reports. To succeed in this role, strong analytical skills and effective communication are important management trainee qualifications you must have.

The position is located in Boone, this would suite someone who lives in the Boone area of is 30 – 40 minutes from the hotel due to the low housing availability in the area.
Responsibilities
- Complete daily tasks (e.g. implementing & new policies & procedures as needed)
- Understand each department’s (e.g. Marketing & Sales, F&B, Rooms Dept., & Maintenance) daily processes and goals
- Provide administrative support (e.g. data entry)
- Get familiar with personnel & HR duties
- Participate in hotel’s strategic planning in evaluating performance (e.g. writing reports, analyzing data)
- Keep track of business: Occupancies, ADR, RevPAR, GOPPAR, & Revenue
- Research ways to increase profitability and lower risk
- Create and give presentations as needed
Requirements And Skills
- At least 2 years experience in, hotel lower management/supervisory or similar/relevant fields (e.g. Sales, Customer Services, etc.)
- Comprehensive knowledge of MS Office
- Strong verbal and written presentation skills
- Excellent math and computational ability
- Effective communication skills
- A degree in Management or Business
