The University of Houston College of Medicine (UHCOM) is recruiting for Family Medicine Residency Program Director to join the educational team of Founding Dean Stephen J. Spann, M.D., M.B.A. The inaugural class of 30 students began July 2020 and the second class of 30 began July 2021. The third class will increase in size to 60 students. Construction on a dedicated medical education building began in May 2020 and should be complete by July 2022.
The HC/UHCOM Family Medicine program received initial accreditation July 1, 2018 and is based at HCA Houston Healthcare West. The program is approved for 30 trainees and will graduate its first class in 2022.
As the nation’s top-performing healthcare system and largest sponsor of GME, HCA believes in challenging residents to exceed patient’s expectations. Currently, the consortium sponsors seven residency programs, but that number shall grow by 2025.
