DESCRIPTION:
Grays Harbor College is accepting applications for an innovative and collaborative Director of Teacher Education. The Director of Teacher Education is an administrative position overseeing the Bachelor of Applied Science in Teacher Education, K-8 with ELL Endorsement program, working in collaboration with the Teacher Education program faculty, program staff, and community K-8 partners. The Director participates in collaborative leadership with the Vice President of Instruction and other instructional leaders to fulfill the mission and priorities of the college. The position requires an inclusive and equitable approach to student access and success. This is a 12-month assignment.
The Director will collaborate across departments scheduling courses in support of the teacher education program, coordinating curriculum, assessment, strategic planning, accreditation, faculty/staff development, departmental operations, course scheduling/assignments, grant management, community engagement, and external initiative activities for teacher certification programs. The director is the point of contact for student engagement, support, and program advising. The director may teach one or more courses during the academic year in addition to or adjustment of the director’s contract.
This is a full-time, exempt position that reports to the Vice President of Instruction. Grays Harbor College has an excellent benefits package to include medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, primary and supplemental retirement programs and long-term disability insurance. Full-time employees will also receive 15.34 hours of vacation leave per month, 8 hours of sick leave per month and 3 personal leave days a year.
