With a holistic view of student development, the Center for Student Engagement invests in the empowerment and support of registered student organizations which catalyze belonging and an engaged campus community. The Center for Student Engagement aims to support a campus community that provides all Georgia Tech students safe and meaningful engagement opportunities.
All RSOs are supported and managed through the Center for Student Engagement by the Student Organizations Team, which serves to facilitate the registration, oversight, and support of all RSOs.
The Center for Student Engagement is comprised of 4 areas, , , , and Student Organizations.
Supporting the Associate Dean and Director of the Center for Student Engagement (“the Center”), the Associate Director will manage and oversee programs and training for the Center, including the development and direction of educational and developmental programs for Registered Student Organizations (RSOs) (student leaders, advisors, and emerging student leaders). This position will also support programs that facilitate GT students becoming involved in RSOs. Responsible for setting office goals and group goals, developing and implementing strategies to meet those goals, and assessing employee and group performance in meeting set goals. This position will interact on a regular basis: Students, staff, and faculty. This position typically will advise and counsel: Students, staff, and faculty. This position will supervise: May supervise assigned staff.
Job Duty 1 –
Serve as the campus administrator to the ENGAGE platform, including advocacy and service in the areas of data stewardship, software integrations, campus integration, and adoption.
Job Duty 2 –
Manage Human Resources activities of program-level professional staff, along with facility and desk student staff in regards to recruiting and selection, hiring and termination, training, development, mentoring, performance evaluation, and budget planning. Ensure adequate staffing for all scheduled events.
Job Duty 3 –
Oversee the Student Organization’s Hub to include booking space(s), resources, advertising, advocacy, and campus utilization. Assist with operations and escalate relevant maintenance concerns.
Job Duty 4 –
Serve as lead or supervisor of the Center’s signature programs (e.g. Up with the White & Gold, Student Organizations Fair, Leader Summit, and the Big Buzz, Yellow Jacket MegaMixer).
Job Duty 5 –
Provide consultation to RSO leaders and advisors in addressing challenges and advocating for support and resolution. Provide oversight and consultation for questions related to the Registered Student Organization’s policies and subsequent or applicable policies and procedures (e.g. funding guide).
Job Duty 6 –
Develop an annual program operating budget and be accountable for performance against the approved budget. Assist in establishing annual budget reports.
Job Duty 7 –
Design, develop, and facilitate programs for student organization leaders, advisors, and members to enhance leadership development and organizational development. Direct training strategy for RSO leaders and RSO advisors. Coordinate the Center’s participation in open-call campus training programs (e.g. FASET and Gold Carpet Day). Direct student assistant/student ambassador training. Support campus departments in reviewing their training material for RSO audiences. Develop and conduct workshops in area of expertise.
Job Duty 8 –
Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the Center for Student Engagement services and programs. Oversee and direct maintenance of the Center’s website.
Job Duty 9 –
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Educational Requirements
Master’s degree

May help set up for programs and special events.
Required Experience
Four years or more of job-related experience.
Preferred Experience
Prior experience in a higher education setting. Experience in the development and management of student organization programs.
ABILITIES
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
KNOWLEDGE
Familiarity with ENGAGE (Anthology product). Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.
SKILLS
Analytical skills to identify problems, access alternatives, and provide consistent, logical decisions. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
