Lead Engineer will lead technical activities in Controls area for Component Test Ops. Activities contributing to the design and development of products, solutions and systems. Includes activities linked to technical improvement of existing products and components Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance. This job will entail the following:
• Coordinate with Team Leader to ensure daily test operations priorities are consistent and being worked appropriately
• Assist Team Leader with mentoring and development of less-experienced team members
• Oversee development cycle of test vehicle in accordance with company policies & procedures
• Gather requirements from Fluid Systems, Electrical Systems, Controls, & Configurations Engineering teams to be integrated into test vehicle
• Ensure test vehicle process completes required tollgates in a timely manner
• Develop task list and labor hours projections for fabrication of test vehicle
• Review test requests for completeness and issue approval to proceed with testing plan
• Ensure funding in place for Test Operations team to execute requested testing plans
• Author new process documentation and complete review of existing process documentation in accordance with company policies & procedures
• Review and approve operational checklists in accordance with company policies & procedures
• Establish regular communication with engineering customers to ensure facilities & personnel are aligned with upcoming business priorities
• Manage facility loading schedule in accordance with stated business priorities and communicate this on a regular basis
