Scope of Role: As Product Manager, you will act as a leader for your assigned air moving products through all aspects of their life cycle including vision to execution; roadmap definition, business case creation, feature prioritization, and external communication/promotion. In this role, you will be involved with product strategy and execution from beginning to end, working with a cross-functional team that includes sales, marketing, operations, new product development, and engineering.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
— Lead the cross-functional team to analyze market trends, voice-of-customer requirements, and competitive strategy to identify opportunities to drive revenue and gross margin and improve product quality and company capability.
— Develop business cases for new projects based on market needs and customer requirements.
— Lead creation of high-flow application product roadmaps and lead cross-functional teams through new product development execution.
— Serve as the subject matter expert and knowledge resource for the commercial team and customers
— Organize and conduct new and existing product training for sales, customer service, OEMs, and distribution.
— Work with Global Pricing Manager to set product pricing.
— Assist with global marketing activities including internal team training, collateral generation, tradeshow representation, and customer interaction.
— Develop and present ongoing competitive product analyses
— For products being replaced with new products, develop transitions plan to ensure quick conversion which includes support customer test requirements and limit stranded inventory.
— Using product line simplification methodology, continually analyze GAST’s current portfolio for opportunities to reduce complexity, improve profitability and exit poor performing models
— Perform other assignments as directed by the Business Line Director
— Travel up to 25%

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS OR EQUIVALENCIES:
— Bachelor’s degree in business, manufacturing, engineering discipline, or technical degree
— Minimum of 5 years of Product Management experience required; preferably with a B2B or manufacturing company
— Experience working with air moving products preferred
— Solid proficiency with Microsoft Office software – particularly Excel and PowerPoint
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
— Integrity, trust, and interpersonal savvy
— Ability to work successfully in a multi-cultural environment
— Excellent communication/presentation skills (written and verbal)
— Strong analytical skills: ability to assess situations and make sound decisions with incomplete information
— Ability to manage by influence in a matrix-managed organization
— Experience working closely with Engineering to ensure appropriate trade-offs during product development are discussed and decided upon, and projects are completed on time
— Ability to prioritize activities and drive to achieve goals
