Free Enterprise Company designs and distributes themed and branded jewelry products. We are seeking a creative and energetic graphic designer to join our product development team. Only local candidates encouraged to apply since the job is onsite and relocation assistance is not provided.
Under the direct supervision of the R&D Manager, this position provides graphic design, digital photography, and administrative support for R&D Department. In addition, incumbent may perform duties such as record keeping, coordination of meetings and proposals, obtaining supplies and services, working on special projects, and assembling highly confidential and sensitive information. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize diversified workload.
Principle Duties:
1.Thinks creatively to produce new design concepts and ideas through original sketches or digital art renderings.
2.Produces designs that focus on stories, themes and/or collections that achieve brand integrity.
3.Researches jewelry/fashion market trends and relates those trends to the company’s brand profile.
4.Uses technical skill and artistic eye to take digital photos of products. Manages the digital photo library/catalog. Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment.

6.Actively participates in brainstorm sessions. Contributes to team effort.
7.Works simultaneously on multiple projects based on workload and customer deadlines.
8.Aides with layout of presentation boards and trays for product development meetings.
9.Performs digitalization of R&D artwork using Adobe Creative Suite (i.e. Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.) or other software applications.
10.Archives and retrieves all art, images and project files within standards established by the Department.
11.Creates and maintains various documents, spreadsheets and forms related to the design and manufacture of Free Enterprise jewelry products (e.g. Assembly Specification Sheets).
12.Performs quality control inspection of pre-production and top of production samples. Coordinates approval with customers.
13.Organizes and prioritizes large volumes of information. Drafts written communication as directed by management. Responds to regularly occurring requests for information.
14.Manages material flow and storage in and out of the department including samples, parts, and supplies.
15.Drafts general correspondence (email communications with suppliers, co-workers, and customers). Proofreads copy for spelling, grammar, and layout, making appropriate changes. Responsible for accuracy and clarity of final copy.
16.Performs other duties as assigned and participates in overall creative process.
17.Meets the attendance requirements of this position which requires a physical presence in the office during the established work schedule, including reporting to work on time and staying at work for the daily hours, absent approved time off.
