Oversees the development and implementation of the Facilities department’s safety processes. Will interact and coordinate safety-related activities throughout the Bank with other departments.

Job Responsibilities:
Leads the department’s safety culture.
Manages and regularly updates department safety processes.
Maintains, updates, and distributes revised Facilities Health & Safety Manual binders to team members.
Supervises projects with significant safety-related exposures.
Inspect construction and renovation areas for safe work.
Provides prompt and appropriate direction when unsafe behaviors are observed.
Review and approve Hot Work, Saw-Cutting/Core-Drilling, and other related permits.
Familiarity with Hazardous Materials and their respective abatement protocols.
Develops and manages the department’s Safety and Training program in accordance with OSHA regulations, industry standards, and the Federal Reserve’s requirements to ensure team members are current on safety awareness and equipment operation.
Manages and maintains all documentation related to safety and training in the department.
Maintain sufficient supply of PPE necessary for the operation of the building.
Advises team members on fall protection, facade access, jobsite safety analysis, lockout/tagout, equipment inspections, etc.
Develops and directs programs to ensure environmental, health, and safety compliance and outcomes by ensuring employee awareness and compliance with all applicable BOCA, Life Safety, OSHA, DEQ, DOT, and DOL codes, ordinances, and regulations.
Manages Hazardous Waste manifests.
Manages the Air Permit process.
Manages the Stormwater Credit process.
Continuous growth and education through classes and pursuing additional industry credentials.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Fulfills job duties and responsibilities in conformance with sound safety practices.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering related area preferred, or combination of education and related experience.
Minimum of 8 years of experience related to Safety Management in facilities management, construction, etc.
OR Certified Safety Professional Certification with 10+ years of experience in an industrial and/or construction setting. Certified Safety Professional or equivalent required.
Industry-standard Safety Professional certifications preferred, such as CSP.
Knowledge and Skills:
Broad and deep knowledge and experience with federal, state, and local facility and transportation regulations, codes, and ordinances to include, but not limited to BOCA, Life Safety (IBC, IFC, NFPA 101), OSHA, VOSH, MOSH, NCOSH, DEQ, DOT, and DOL – Pressure Vessel Safety Broad and deep knowledge of 29 CFR 1910 and 29 CRF 1926.
Strong PC software skills in Microsoft Office products, as well as ability to learn new software as required.
Experience in training varying levels of personnel on use of PPE and safety processes.
Strong verbal communication skills.
Strong technical writing skills, including authoring and updating procedures.
Demonstrated problem solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and with others including internal groups, end users, and outside vendors.
Other Requirements:
Ability to work occasional unscheduled/irregular hours and/or different work shifts to provide assistance during emergencies or when deemed necessary by management.
Position may require up to 10% travel, including overnight.
