Role Summary
Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies and initiatives to achieve corporate growth and organizational objectives. Work collaboratively with cargo, customer service and other departments to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of the operation, as well as the profitability of the company. Responsible for managing the sales team and maximizing sales opportunities to meet overall company objectives, ensuring a positive team environment through strong leadership.

Key Duties

• Maintain a motivated and productive team through the performance of leadership functions including team building, recruitment, hiring, training, coaching, counseling, performance monitoring, reviews, and disciplinary action.
• Develop and implement a sales enhancement and marketing strategy for the organization (domestic and international) to increase market share. Include goals and objectives in the areas of sales promotions, marketing, and public relations, that are appropriate, achievable and complement the company’s current growth strategy.
• Develop and achieve sales objectives through effective planning, setting sales goals, and tracking and analyzing sales metrics, to expand Everts Air’s customer base and ensure a strong presence in the communities it serves.
• Retain existing accounts and establish new business relationships by identifying and making regular sales calls in the Alaska freight community, including corporate, local, state, federal, and military organizations.
• Increase awareness and visibility of Everts Air throughout the State.
• Conduct statewide business development calls and visits to existing and prospective Everts Air clients.
• Understand and report on the competitive landscape, market trends, promotions, offerings, competitive rates, etc. and propose strategies to maintain business momentum and improve the company’s position.

Required

• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Requires the ability to understand, retain, and deliver information verbally and written.
• Requires the ability to maintain excellent customer/station agent relations, and to deal effectively with difficult customers.
• Individual must be energetic, self-motivated, and comfortable with frequent changes.
• Requires good organization, attention to detail, record keeping skills and the ability to maintain current and updated information. Requires the ability to input and retrieve information from databases.
