Emerald is seeking a Business Development Manager to join our ASD Market Week team. ASD Market Week is a premier B2B Brand in the Emerald portfolio. It is the most comprehensive tradeshow for consumer merchandise in the United States. Our shows are held twice a year in Las Vegas. At ASD, the world’s widest variety of general merchandise and consumer products come together in one efficient 4-day shopping experience. We take great satisfaction in fostering growth by seamlessly connecting buyers and sellers; ultimately leading to brand expansion.
The Business Development Manager is responsible for sourcing and generating sales leads through active outreach to the market, as well as evaluating and developing potential sales leads generated through ASD marketing initiatives. This role will research potential leads prior to outreach as well as vet and qualify generated leads to determine their fit with ASD collections.
The best candidate for this position will be a hunter who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment. We’re seeking someone creative, resilient, and detail-oriented to represent our brands with a consultative sales style. In addition, the Business Development Manager must be self-motivated, and can work independently to meet and exceed sales development goals.
This position can be performed from any of our US-based offices or remotely from anywhere within the US.
Responsibilities:
Engagement: Act swiftly on all inbound leads. Use phone calls, emails, and innovative communication techniques. You should be hitting 20-30 sales actions daily
Strategy: Dive deep into competitive events, market publications, trends, web searches, social media, and CRM tools to locate your next potential client
Research: Perform meticulous due diligence on leads, gauge potential success, and deliver relevant solutions
Collaboration: Engage with teams to align strategies, ensuring you’re always ahead of the curve
Transitioning: Once you’ve got a hot lead, ensure a smooth handover to our Account Executives
Qualifications:
Experience: You have an extensive background in business development, with proven sales metrics (cold call sales)
Track Record: Proven success in sealing deals and driving business growth
Tools: Familiarity with Salesforce or equivalent CRMs. And yes, the cold sales calls? They excite you
Industry Knowledge: Experience in events, media, or related sectors is a plus
Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Tech-Savviness: Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Travel-Ready: Be prepared to travel up to 25% of the time

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Target Compensation: $65,000-$70,000 (Sales Incentive Eligible)
