Overview:
The Human Resources Generalist I / HRIS is responsible for a wide variety of Human Resources tasks and projects that require daily interaction with both field and internal associates, as well as corporate management. This position specializes in the tactical administration and compliance responsibilities surrounding employee records, HRIS system, and Human Resources on boarding and off boarding process, materials, and activities.
Responsibilities
• Experience in the areas of company employee records, HRIS system administration and new hire employment process.
• Ensures correct input of associate data and information into the HRIS for new hires, employment and personal data changes, terminations, etc.
• Serves as ECCO Select Point of Contact with the HRIS provider. Works directly with the appropriate ADP representatives to ensure timely implementation of system programing, as needed.
• Serve as Point of Contact with Efficient Hire representatives regarding the company’s hosted electronic onboarding system and internal process. Ensures the company remains compliant with required employment documentation, the correct online employment forms are activated in a timely manner.
• Communicates with candidates for hire to confirm offer and acceptance, send Efficient Hire instructions, ensure accurate and timely completion, and verify/process new hire I-9s.
• Administers company E-Verify and all required pre-employment background and drug screening processes.
• Communicates effectively and promptly with ECCO Select candidates and associates to validate and confirm documentation as required.
• Collects and files all approvals and documentation for associate salary and pay change requests
• Work closely with Payroll Manager to regularly validate and reconcile relevant associate data, including pay and status changes, work location, new services, withholdings and other appropriate pay deductions, home address changes, etc.
• Develops and produces in-person, email, text, and phone communication with associates to ensure appropriate documentation and materials are completed and submitted in a timely manner.
• Remain current on federal, state, and local employment-related laws, conducts policy and/or location – specific research as needed, and ensures ECCO Select is consistent and compliant in its management and enforcement of employee records administration, and new hire documentation and procedures.
• Disseminates company communications and assist in the management of issue resolution/escalation in the areas of responsibility, as needed.
• Consistently looks for opportunities and drives improvements in HR processes and internal customer service.
• Develops and maintains a solid working knowledge of both the HRIS and Time & Attendance systems demonstrates the ability to input and retrieve data and generate reports.
• Assists with benefits enrollment and terminations as it pertains to on boarding and offboarding processing and during the annual open enrollment period.
• Previous experience working in a high transaction environment, either in terms of total number of employees greater than 250 or average monthly hiring/terminations greater than 25.
• Assists with annual reporting and other required documentation and submissions for EEO-1, OFCCP/Affirmative Action Plan, VEVRAA/VETS 4212.
• Serves as the primary back-up to the HR Generalist II. Effectively cross-trains, documents procedures, and can fully support all HR operations and processes.
• Consistently drive improvements in HR processes and internal customer service.
• Takes an active role in the development and documentation of HR procedural documents and company policies.
Required Skills and Experience
• Minimum two years’ experience in Human Resources with familiarity with ADP or similar HRIS system experience.
• HR experience in a multi-state organization strongly preferred.
• Exceptional customer service and relationship building skills.
• Self-starter, planner, analytical thinker, and comfortable with ambiguity.
• Tech-savvy, able to navigate systems and utilize them to their full capacity.
• Knowledge of enterprise Benefits Administration
• Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws.
• Multi-task oriented with desire to work in a very fast-paced environment.
• Organized and proactive.
• Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral formats and develop and maintain strong internal relationships that encourage trust and inspire respect.
Education/Licenses
· Bachelors’ degree or applicable work experience in lieu of degree required.
· HR professional certification preferred.
· Prior work with ADP or similar HRIS is strongly preferred.
