Eastern Virginia Medical School Looking for Office Coordinator, CME at Norfolk, VA  Full Time

Coordinate CME activities eligible for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit in compliance with the ACCME requirements and Standards for Integrity and Independence in Accredited Continuing Education. Collaborate with physicians, staff, and others to assist in planning, development, implementation and assessment of courses. Develop, implement, and assess educational activities as discussed in the job description. Comply with all regulatory boards, such as the ACCME, AMA, FDA and Office of Inspector General. Professional development in the position is encouraged.

Coordinate CME activities eligible for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit, ensuring that all comply with the ACCME accreditation requirements.

• Communicate regularly with course directors and coordinators, and document compliance with the ACCME accreditation requirements and Standards for Integrity and Independence in Accredited Continuing Education, and the AMA Guidelines.

• Audit grant reports for activities within the job description on a regular basis.

• Assist with grants and monitor programming for commercial support issues in accordance with the CME monitoring report policy and follow up as necessary.

• Review applications and assist in needs documentation and planning of CME activities.

• Facilitate financials including honoraria and travel expenses for faculty associated with CME activities.

• Audit and evaluate CME activities for quality and compliance with the ACCME and CME policies.

• Keep abreast of changes in ACCME/AMA/EVMS policies and procedures and make any necessary changes in order to maintain compliance.

• Maintain database (CME Tracker) for respective CME activities.

• Periodically meet with department CME coordinators.

• Execute and manage all enduring materials.

• Assist the Assistant Dean and Assistant Director as necessary to meet the goals of the CME office.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Associate degree; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Three (3) years of experience in program coordination activities and administrative functions. Must have proficient computer skills, including word, excel, and outlook, and be able to learn new software applications. Experience in adult learning is preferred. Must be self-starter, able to set goals ad distinguish priorities, effective interpersonal communication skills. Strong organizational skills, including recording keeping and detail oriented.
