Reporting to the Chief People Officer (CPO) the Talent Manager integrates creativity, strategy, and resourcefulness to attract top diverse talent to DI. This role supervises, coaches, and develops the Talent Specialist, engages employee recognition programs, oversees the internship program, and implements strategic recruitment solutions. The Talent Manager works closely with department leaders and other internal stakeholders to provide excellent candidate experience, new employee onboarding, and career development support for all DI team members. The role is located at our headquarters in Overland Park, KS.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS:
Aligns with CPO on strategic goals for recruitment, hiring practices, employee experience, and employee retention
Manages hiring process and provides suggestions for recruitment improvements
Coaches and mentors the Talent Specialist, elevating the recruiting initiatives
Oversees pipeline development with the Talent Specialist, ensuring a robust and diverse and relevant channel strategy and candidate pool
Participates in job requisition kick off meetings to ensure job description is reflective of business and department needs, updating the job description and postings as needed
Collaborates with HR Director and Chief People Officer on salary recommendations based on candidate experience, knowledge, and abilities
Manages the onboarding scheduling process for all new employees, partnering with the hiring manager on start date and training schedule
Conducts all new employee check ins at 30 and 90 days, providing thorough feedback for employees, managers, and CPO
Directs development of career fair content with the Talent Specialist, as well as participates
Manages the summer internship program with assistance from the Talent Specialist and CPO
Participates in employee promotion discussions and administers promotion materials with subsequent PAFs
Executes all employee exits by fulfilling offboarding process
Reports to CPO key metrics: time-to-fill, offer acceptance, diversity, and retention rates
Works with CPO on employee training programs
Works with CPO on career path development and accountability charts
Assists with employee experience initiatives as identified by CPO
Manages the recruitment strategy and process along with Talent Specialist
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Excellent understanding of recruitment process with ability to develop and implement process improvement
Strong command of laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment
Ability to learn, adopt and implement highly effective social media recruitment methods (e.g. LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter)
Experience building and developing performance management and career-pathing process
Ability to be maintain and hold confidentiality where needed and appropriate
Strong analytical and communication skills
Strong supervisory and leadership skills
Strong organization, follow-through, and attention to detail
Highly adept in Google and Microsoft Office software
Seen as strategic partner to hiring managers
Strong presentation and persuasion skills
Can multi-task, prioritize and appropriately delegate independently
