AUGUSTA, GEORGIA
Located near the South Carolina border, Augusta, Georgia, is the state’s second largest metropolitan area. A very low cost of living, stable real estate market and excellent schools and neighborhoods makes Augusta an ideal place to call home. Augusta is probably best known for its golf courses. The scenic Augusta National Golf Club hosts the Masters Tournament every year. In the downtown area, the Augusta Riverwalk and Amphitheatre, located along the Savannah River, features Saturday farmers markets and Sunday jazz concerts that take place along the river. Sports fans can cheer on the Augusta Green Jackets baseball team.
Work Schedule: 8:00am – 4:30pm

Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)

CHARLIE NORWOOD VA MEDICAL CENTER
The Augusta Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center (CNVAMC) is a level 1a, medical school affiliated, two-division Medical Center that provides tertiary care in Medicine, Surgery, Specialty Care, Neurology, Psychiatry, Physical Medicine and Rehab, Primary Care, Geriatrics, and a dedicated Spinal Cord Institute serving a multi-state catchment area. The Medical Center is affiliated with the Augusta University [AU], in Augusta, GA and the Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical center, integrating clinical care, teaching, and research, making it an attractive academic and research Medical Center.
The candidate needs to meet existing VHA requirements for physicians, including credentialing and privileging requirements. Board certification in SCI Medicine is strongly encouraged. The candidate must:
- 1. Have completed either a SCI fellowship training or equivalent training in the care of persons with SCI/D and demonstrate clinical and administrative knowledge in SCI/D medicine enabling the candidate to successfully direct a SCI/D Center.
2. Present evidence of formal training and proven competence in leadership, administration, QI, and risk management (for example, executive/leadership courses for physicians, accrediting organizations) for the position of Chief, SCI/D Center.
3. Present evidence of interest and involvement in research and teaching.
