Our company is a women’s fashion retailer based in New York, and we are looking for a Fashion Buyer/Designer to fill an open position. About the Position

A Fashion Buyer/Designer is expected to provide samples, understand women’s wear trends and contemporary, liaise with factories, ensure delivery dates are met, and make purchases for stores. Stays up-to-date on fashion trends and works together with technical design, trend, and merchant teams to develop styles, materials, fits, and colors for products. This would be a great opportunity for you to share and expand your knowledge of women’s fashion!

Work Hours:

10:00 AM to 7:00 PM; Monday-Sunday

As scheduled (during store operating hours)

Minimum Qualifications

High school graduation or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Clean Police Record Required

Needs to be able to sew

Must provide an example of your work

Responsibilities

• Provide seasonal concepts, style direction, fabric, and design detail and adapt it appropriately to the various merchandise areas

• Creates and organizes the development/production calendar to develop seasonal products on time

• Works closely with vendor partners to ensure quality product

• Creates products that reflect the brand’s DNA and aesthetic

• Be culturally sensitive to different markets

• Possess an in-depth understanding of fashion industry and brands/products

• Information and provide feedback to managers

• Identify and edit fashion and color trend information via runway shows, forecasting services, magazines, and the internet that is brand-appropriate through market research.

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekend availability
