Responsibilities

Growth.The Supervisor Patient Transportation is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the patient transportation areas within Community Medical Centers (CMC). Responsibilities include, assigning Patient Transporter duties, monitoring the activities of transporters, training of Patient Transporters, overseeing the scheduling and time & attendance for the transportation areas, monitoring compliance, utilizing various systems/software including tableau and EPIC.
In addition, performs the duties of a Patient Transporter as needed. Accountabilities 1. Oversees and coordinates the daily work activities of Patient Transporters ensuring a high quality patient, staff, and visitor experience.
Assigns, directs and reviews the work of subordinates, work methods, procedures, work flow and standards for quality and quantity of work.2. Serves as liaison and first point of contact for all issues related to transport operations.3. Monitors the transport services productivity, turnaround time (TAT) and recommend staffing adjustments.
Generates regular reports for management on departmental key performance indicators (KPIs).4. Ensures staff is in compliance with CMC standards including safety, policy and procedures and all regulatory requirements.5. Performs duties as a Patient Transporter to include: transporting/transferring patients utilizing knowledge of body mechanics, responding to requests for medical records, retrieves and delivers lab and X-ray results, transports equipment and supplies within the facility and communicates with receiving or requesting department of any patient transport delays or issues.6.
Demonstrates functional knowledge of all workforce management systems, including trends in the patient transport industry, to determine more effective ways to utilize the tools and support staff members and departmental goals.7. Directly responsible (with support from Human Resources) for employee engagement and people management processes including interviewing and selection, time and attendance approval, providing timely feedback and performance evaluations, employee development, employee retention, disciplinary actions and terminations.8. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: High School Diploma, High School Equivalency (HSE) or Completion of a CHS Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required Associate’s Degree preferred 2 years of related healthcare experience required LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: BLS – Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) required
