Summary
The Community Support Specialist, in collaboration with the team, provides community support services to deaf, deaf-blind, and hard-of-hearing individuals, including those who have other disabilities. Responsibilities include the identification and provision of community-based support and education services in accordance with the consumer’s individualized service plan. In addition to these services, this position will provide outreach and education services to the community at large, including but not limited to presentations about health, self-advocacy, employment, and cultural sensitivity training to businesses that employ deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals.

Work Environment / Physical Requirements
This position is moderately self-directed and requires understanding and compliance with company policies, procedures, and values. The position works in a standard office environment utilizing a computer and standard office equipment and meeting with consumers in homes, schools, and public environments. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to interact collaboratively with the team and stakeholders and communicate via phone, videophone, or text messaging. The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds occasionally. The position may require to travel up to 50%.
