Position Summary

Our Grade-2 Lead Teacher role is an opportunity for individuals who are passionate about transforming education in Tulsa. As an early childhood lead teacher, you will be joining a team of driven individuals.

You will be responsible for guiding our youngest scholars through their first experiences with education using a rigorous, play-based curriculum. You have the opportunity to create a safe, loving, and rigorous environment that puts scholars on the path to and through college. You will lead our founding class of first-grade scholars to success.

Qualifications

• Strong commitment to and alignment with the school’s mission and core beliefs.

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree preferred.

• Ability to assess data, find trends, and use information to make strategic decisions.

• Knowledge of or experience in education and/or mentoring of urban youth.

• Commitment to holding students to high behavioral standards that will support their academic achievement.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to approach situations with courage, integrity, respect and perseverance, willingness to take personal responsibility, open to and interested in feedback on performance, eagerness to continue to improve in effectiveness, and steady determination to pursue excellence regardless of the situation.

Responsibilities

• Embody and teach to the mission, vision, and strategic direction of the school.

• Teach rigorous, standards-aligned, grade-level curriculum to all students.

• Administer formative, summative, and nationally-normed assessments

• Analyze all assessment data and use it to inform instruction.

• Identify scholars in need of additional resources and support through the RTI process.

• Track daily exit tickets.

• Record assessment scores and work on report cards.

• Lead report card conferences.

• Support the general operations and culture of the building, including monitoring students during non-instructional time and attending family events throughout the year.

• Communicate weekly with all families.

• Provide resources for families (sight words, fast facts, homework) to support student learning.

• Commit to continual professional growth, participating actively in department meetings, professional development, weekly data meetings, Staff SEL Compass Circles, and coaching meetings.

• Participate in a 4-week summer PD.

• Participate in one-on-one coaching cycles.

• Own classroom data.

• Guide the academic and social-emotional development of our youngest scholars.

• Incorporate life skills, core values and habits, and social skills into daily lessons.

• Receive and respond to in-the-moment feedback.

• Collaborate with a grade-level team.

• Lead student SEL Compass Circles

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $38,000.00 – $45,000.00 per year
