Teaching Position

Chisholm Creek Academy (an Acton Academy Affiliate) is seeking a teacher who is ready to change the world of education. We will begin in August 2022, so this is an opportunity to be an integral part of the building of an innovative, game-changing school. We are seeking teachers with an entrepreneurial spirit, self-motivation, and drive.

Position Description

Under the guidance of the Head of School, the teacher will oversee a class of no more than 16 students in grades 2-5. She/he will be responsible for facilitating Socratic group discussions, mentoring individual students, and organizing the classroom. Though most of the curriculum will be set already, the teacher will play a role in evaluating and refining the existing curriculum and designing and experimenting with new projects, tools, and approaches. The teacher will also maintain the classroom environment, document the class (student projects, achievements, and everyday activity), and compile student portfolios.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a deep curiosity about life, a lifelong love of learning, and an entrepreneurial spirit (Specifically you must thrive in a startup environment). Candidates should have excellence in guiding children in or out of a school environment, excellence in written and oral communication skills, and an evident passion for being on a Hero’s Journey. We seek a teacher who loves to experiment, evaluate, and improve on everything she/he does. Candidates should have a deep respect for all children and empathy for the challenges children face in their lives. This is a position for an independent learner who can take direction but can also work with little direct guidance. Montessori and/or experiential learning training is a plus.

Salary

Chisholm Creek Academy offers a salary commensurate with experience plus a bonus structure based on performance.

Pay: $30,000.00 – $40,000.00 per year
