Centric Brands Looking for SENIOR DIRECTOR, SOURCING – Montreal Office at Montreal, Quebec Full Time

The Senior Director, Sourcing oversees all facets of global sourcing, manufacturing and supply chain operations by identifying appropriate vendors/factories, placing/negotiating manufacturing orders and ensuring the timely delivery of quality, profitable goods.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy & Innovation

• Develop strategic supply chain/vendor base; partner with corporate resources to achieve global sourcing efficiencies across divisions and groups;
• Oversee and perform competitive research and continuously evaluate marketplace to identify appropriate vendors for categories and brand(s); monitor market and other trends to strategically determine optimal placement of goods for pricing, timing and reliability;
• Review applicability of key trends in sourcing, manufacturing, fabrications, and construction; review significant innovations and share with partners in Merchandising and Design on regular basis; oversee maintenance of archive of materials, hardware, etc. for production.

 Operations and Results

• Oversee and review approved vendor matrix, with costing and production capacity portfolio; approve and review production standards;
• Perform high-level negotiations on pricing to ensure profitability; partner with Compliance and Legal to oversee vendor/factory compliance with code of conduct; oversee customs classification coordination with Imports;
• Set and articulate expectations and ensure timely delivery according to development calendar; oversee quality control initiatives, including QA analysis and solutions;
• Oversee capacity planning and performance management by sourcing office, region, country and vendor; define and oversee accurate costing models; partner with Sales and Planning to project high-level production needs, make commitments to raw materials, where appropriate; allocate. production across vendors and reserve production space.

 Customers & Relationships

• Partner with customers, Sales, Merchandising and Operations, as well as vendors and factories to ensure adequate flow of goods relative to orders and anticipated demand criteria;
• Oversee interoffice communication and follow-up with internal and external customers and contacts regarding production, including suppliers and vendors;
• Delegate special projects as assigned;
• Travel regularly to factories and international trade shows.

 Leadership & Teams

• Lead, train and motivate global team of full-time and part-time personnel as well as factory and independent agents; strategize staffing needs across categories and brands, where appropriate;
• Contribute positively to team dynamic and manage up where necessary;
• Attract, develop and retain talent; create appropriate succession plans;
• Monitor and evaluate performance of individuals and team(s).

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Superior organizational skills and excellent communication skills; team oriented
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines; highly detail oriented and meticulous
• Creativity, technical capability, and sensibility for merchandising/design
• Extensive knowledge of garment manufacturing, including construction, fabrication, trim and print techniques; strong connections with garment manufacturers and agents around the world
• Bachelor’s Degree
• 10 – 12 years experience in apparel production and sourcing; significant relevant experience in category
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe products, CAD and Mac computers
