The Product Development Assistant supports the seasonal product needs, in collaboration with a cross-functional teams that include Production, Design, Sales, and Overseas Offices to develop and execute assigned product lines.

• The Product Development Assistant will help to facilitate the development process for the Kids Sportswear Division
• Responsibilities include, but not limited to : setting up and maintaining seasonal approval charts, assisting the product development team by reviewing product submissions including color lab dips, trim samples, strike-offs, sales samples and pre-production samples
• Assist in daily communication with suppliers and vendors on product submissions
• Participate in submit and sample review meetings with the Design teams and Technical Designers to ensure garment constructions,design details, and art placement are met to the design concept at fit stage
• Organizational responsibilities include product submissions, proto, salesmen and pp samples
• Catalog and maintain fabric, print and trim standard libraries for future references

Skills and Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Superior organizational and communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines; highly detail oriented, meticulous and creative
• Knowledge of apparel development process from inception through production, including but not limited to fabric technology, color science, art applications and garment construction
• 1 – 3 years’ experience in product development or design
• Proficient in FlexPLM, Microsoft Office,  knowledge of Adobe Illustrator a plus
• People-oriented, enjoys interacting with people and working on group projects
• Adaptable and flexible, enjoys doing work that requires frequent shifts in directions
