The college has served students in the Lewis County region since 1925 and is the oldest continuously operating community college in Washington State. In addition to the main campus in Centralia, Centralia College East in Morton is a smaller site that serves the needs of students in east Lewis County. Job Description
Centralia College is committed to student success, academic excellence, and supporting our community in an inclusive and equitable learning environment. Working in the Education Department, this professor will primarily focus on coursework related to the BAS in Teacher Education (K-8) program. The courses included are 300 and 400 level courses which are taught in a hybrid evening program. The purpose of this program is to prepare students for state certification in elementary education and provide highly skilled teachers for our K-12 districts. There is also the opportunity to teach 100 and 200 level courses in education in associate program pathways to the bachelor’s program. They will also participate in course and program assessment aligned with PESB standards, student advising, and committee service. This position will regularly work with colleagues, staff, and administrators across the campus; and may engage the community through public events or student outreach. The position begins in the fall quarter 2024. Courses in the BAS in Teacher Education program at Centralia College are offered as hybrid, evening courses, two evenings per week. Lower division education classes are offered in a variety of modalities-including fully in-person, hybrid, hyflex (virtual), and online. Courses are scheduled in the afternoon and early evening.

This is a full-time, tenure track faculty appointment with employment expected to begin Fall Quarter 2024, subject to state legislative funding. The State of Washington provides a comprehensive benefits package for all state employees.
Centralia College faculty are represented by the Centralia College Federation of Teachers, Local No.4469, AFT/AAFL-CIO.
Vocationally certifiable by the State Board of Community and Technical Colleges.

Compensation
Placement on the established faculty salary schedule is dependent upon education and teaching experience.The salary range for a 177-day contract is $67,204 – $100,775.
