Casper College is seeking applicants for a tenure-track Education Instructor. This faculty member will teach courses according to the need in the Education Department for students majoring in elementary education and secondary education. The successful candidate will also advise students, assist in the promotion of education as a career, and participate in various departmental duties as needed and assigned. The instructor will instruct courses both face-to-face and in distance learning modalities.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will provide instruction in Education courses including Foundations of Education, Introduction to Special Education, Educational Psychology, and other education elective courses. The faculty member will be required to meet all scheduled classes through pedagogical instruction, prepare course syllabi for courses of study, prepare materials to adequately evaluate student progress, report midterm and final grades, maintain accurate and adequate records, and establish regular office hours for student consultation. The faculty member performs other related duties as assigned, which includes yet not necessarily limited to advising students on academic curricula, serving on faculty committees, participating in faculty meetings, providing recommendations for preparation of departmental or school budgets, participating in the development of departmental curricula, and adhering to all institutional policies. The faculty member will remain current in the field(s) for which they are hired by reading current literature, communicating with colleagues, and participating in professional development/conferences. Additional departmental or school assignments will be established where appropriate.

Work Environment
Typical work environment is a classroom and office setting requiring normal safety precautions. Work is typically performed during the normal workday; however, occasional early morning, late evening, and weekend work may be required. Short periods of time will be spent outdoors traveling between campus buildings in various weather conditions.
Physical Demands
Employee must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time, speak, hear, use hands and fingers to handle materials and use a computer, feel, and reach with hands and arms. Occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds may be required.
