CCS 100 | Cultural Seminar
Course: Cultural Seminar, a required course for all incoming freshmen, is designed to support a student’s successful transition into Carroll University as well as provide an introduction to cultural awareness and competency. Cultural Seminar, CCS100, is a course designed as a gateway learning experience through which students explore their own culture and a culture different from their own. Most Cultural Seminar sections examine a different topic, but all will have common learning outcomes focused on the understanding of culture.
Section DD: 12:00 p.m. – 1:10 p.m. | Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays | On Campus
Term: Fall 2024 (September 5 – December 17)
Qualifications: A graduate degree (e.g., M.S. or Ph.D.) in cultural studies, sociology, anthropology, or related field. Official transcripts due upon hire.
The College: The College of Arts and Sciences offers undergraduate and graduate programs through seven departments – Communication and Sociology; Computational and Physical Sciences; English, Modern Languages and Philosophy; History, Political Sciences and Religious Studies; Life Sciences; and Visual and Performing Arts.
Carroll University: Founded in 1846, Carroll University is an independent, co-educational comprehensive university grounded in the liberal arts tradition. The Pioneer Core general education curriculum has a strong emphasis on developing intercultural awareness, including cross-cultural immersion experiences. Carroll University is located in suburban Waukesha, 16 miles west of Milwaukee and 60 miles east of Madison. The University serves approximately 3500 students.
