Job Summary
The role of the IT Enterprise Architect (EA) is to enable business and IT leaders to make investment decisions that balance and prioritize current operational demands, disruptions and opportunities with the longer-term strategic vision of the organization. Furthermore, the enterprise architect provides technology guidance, road maps, principles, standards and best practices to deliver and maintain the technology strategic roadmap. Defines system and application architecture and provides vision, problem anticipation and problem solving ability to the organization.
The Enterprise Architect utilizes technical expertise in enterprise applications architecture and the ongoing support of software/hardware product solutions and their implementation within healthcare environments.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field. Years of related experience must include information technology experience primarily in healthcare.Master’s degree in Management Information Systems, or related field preferred.
Experience: (Type and Years/Months): 15 or more years of IT and business/industry work experience including architecture design and deployment, systems lifecycle management and infrastructure planning and operations.
Leadership experience in managing multiple, large, cross-functional teams or projects and influencing senior level management and key stakeholders.
Working experience and understanding of Enterprise Architecture best practices frameworks and standards, for example, TOGAF.
Knowledge of all components of holistic enterprise architecture, business re-engineering principles and processes and basic knowledge of financial models and budgeting.
Proven leadership ability.
Expert level background in three or more of the following; SQL, VB.Net, Asp.Net, XML, HTML, HL7, PACS, application servers/ portal servers, clinical monitoring systems, drug distribution systems, biomedical devices, active directory, storage area networks, enterprise data networks, identity and access management, telecommunications, firewall security controls, application or service line monitoring, client field services, public key infrastructure, virtual desktop infrastructure, enterprise mobile networks, packet capture/decode, and encryption.
Licensure/Certification: Valid Virginia Driver’s License and dependable transportation. ITAC, MCAP (Microsoft Certified Architect) preferred
Other: Working knowledge of hospitals and health care industry required.Effective written and oral communication skills and the ability to present technical findings in a clear and concise manner to non-technical stakeholders.Must be able to communicate effectively in English.
