Cape Regional Health System, a 242-bed acute-care medical center and physician network located in Cape May Court House, New Jersey, seeks a Director of Human Resources. Reporting to the Vice President Human Resources, this highly visible role will develop and implement innovative strategies and programs for employee benefits, compensation, talent acquisition / retention and labor relations. Candidates must have strong, consultative ability to translate and align business operational strategy into HR strategy; must have a strong customer focus, and be a forward-thinking leader in a dynamic team-based culture. This key leadership role requires an individual who can quickly get up to speed on complex work systems, while facilitating broad, sustainable change.
Key Responsibilities
* Develops a high-performing human resources team able to meet the growing/changing needs of the organization.
* Develop and execute near and long-term talent acquisition strategies to ensure the Health System has the necessary talent to deliver on its mission in this highly competitive industry.
* Leverage best practices and technology in the development and successful execution of strategies to source, acquire and retain talent.
* Collaborates with senior and department leaders, Learning and Development and other stakeholders to develop, implement and ensure an integrated and coherent talent management strategy that is aligned with business priorities.
* Oversees, analyzes, and maintains the Health System compensation program to ensure competitiveness with the market by conducting job evaluations, reviewing, and ensuring job descriptions are up to date, conducting desk audits, determining FLSA status, analyzing market data and internal comparisons.
* Advises managers on making effective pay decisions that support team member engagement and reflect our compensation philosophy and budgetary guidelines.
* In conjunction with Manager Compensation and Benefits, develop, implement, and administer all employee benefit plans, Defined Benefit and Defined Compensation Plans, policies, and procedures.
* Ensure benefit plans are in compliance with federal and state regulations, including but not limited to ERISA, HIPAA, FMLA, ADA and COBRA.
* Manages the performance management program leveraging best practices aimed at driving performance.
* Proactively interact with and advise leadership on a broad range of employment and labor relations matters, including disciplinary actions, contract administration and general methods of positive employee relations.
* Serve as an escalation point for employee relations issues. Plan and direct solutions for workplace decisions, conflict negotiation and employee performance issues.
* Develop and administer HR policies and procedures to maintain a productive and innovative workforce. Ensure that such policies are updated regularly and legally compliant.
* Maintains a constant state of readiness to comply with all TJC and NJDOH accreditation and licensing standards.
The successful candidate will have the following:
· Bachelors degree in Human Resources or related field from an accredited college or university and possesses a SPHR/SHRM-SCP designation. Masters degree preferred.
· Demonstrated results in developing talent acquisition and retention strategies,
· Demonstrated results in health plan design and developing cost management strategies,
· Demonstrated results in designing competitive compensation programs, total rewards experience is a plus,
· Working knowledge of retirement program management (DB & DC),
· Strong technical base in employment law and labor relations, contract interpretation and contract negotiations,
· 5 -7 years of people management experience leading the HR function in a healthcare setting.
