Background and Scope
CLIC is a professional services firm that provides high quality technical assistance and strategic advice in governance, institutional development, restoration, and capacity building to public, private, and not-for-profit sectors. In addition, CLIC conducts research, implements monitoring and evaluation and development projects globally with a focus on the broader Middle East and North Africa. CLIC managed projects in Iraq, Jordan, Mozambique, Tunisia, Morocco, Eastern Caribbean and Mongolia, South Sudan, Kenya, Lebanon, Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, and several other countries. Our clients include the Government of Canada, the Government of Iraq, GIZ, the World Bank, national governments, the United Nations and other multilateral and bilateral agencies and international organizations.
CLIC is seeking a Business Development Assistant to join our global team. The successful candidate will support the business development team primarily in the preparation and editing of curriculum vitae of proposed experts on bids, the ongoing population and updating of CLIC’s database of experts and the identification of potential experts registered in the database for inclusion in CLIC’s bids and approved projects. Other business development duties will be assigned as needed.
Main Responsibilities:
Under the guidance and supervision of the Business Development Officers and Managers:
· Edit experts’ CVs to reflect the experience needed for bids being submitted.
· Ensure excellent quality English editing of all CVs.
· Ensure accurate and compelling presentation of CVs of proposed staff and experts in compliance with donor requirements and templates.
· Research and identify experts from CLIC’s database and SharePoint folders required for CLIC’s bids and unsolicited proposals.
· Request and update all CVs on a regular (at least annually) basis taking into account the continued availability of registered experts as consultants/experts.
· Assist in developing criteria grids for required experts on bids and for approved projects.
· Read and understand the consultant/expert job requirements of solicitations, RFQs, RFPs, and EOIs.
· Assist in the preparation of job descriptions and Job Notifications that reflect the qualifications and skills required for the assignment.
· Assist in circulating and announcing Job and Consultant opportunities with CLIC via relevant social media, organizations, networks, job sites and individuals.
· Populate, maintain, and continuously update CLIC’s database of experts.
· Identify potential candidates through diverse recruitment sources, including but not limited to LinkedIn.
· Contact experts to request needed information including CVs and cover letters.
· Organize interviews with experts for the Business Development and Project Management teams.
· Upload all received applications and experts’ CVs into the appropriate SharePoint folders.
· Ensure SharePoint folders are up to date at all times.
· Assist with other business development activities, as necessary.
Required Qualifications & Skills
· Bachelor’s Degree preferably with studies conducted in the English language.
· 0 to 2 years of relevant experience.
· Excellent writing and editing skills in English.
· Comfortable using databases, SharePoint, and Excel Spreadsheets.
· Excellent grasp of social media and other communications technologies.
· Ability and capacity to work independently from home or remote office.
· Proven organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple initiatives simultaneously.
· Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure and against tight deadlines.
· Strong Microsoft Office Skills (Outlook, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
