Responsible for day-to-day management of all HR-related functions with BJ’s Distribution Center and a satellite perishable facility, including payroll, benefits, leaves of absence, progressive discipline, staffing, training, and team member engagement and recognition. Leads a team of (2) HR Administrative Assistants to support overall HR functions and partner/collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence to provide ongoing support for leadership development, talent acquisition, and talent review. Coach, teach, and develop DC leaders and Team Members as a member of the DC leadership team. Responsible for administration and enforcement of all company policies and procedures regarding Human Resources within the Distribution Center.
Implementing guidelines and programs to ensure a quality relationship between management and team members through daily interaction to build and reinforce a positive environment; utilizing problem solving skills to resolve team member relations issues and concerns assuring a fair and consistent approach while adhering to HR confidentiality standards; managing new hire orientation, benefits open enrollment, monthly meetings, and reward and recognition programs; ensuring that all team member performance reviews and merit increases are satisfactorily completed in a timely manner; ensuring leaves of absence, workers compensation and disability programs, attendance, and corrective actions are tracked and handled in accordance with company policy; overseeing the execution and transmission of payroll on a weekly basis, as well as the resolution of any payroll issues; directing the communication and coordination of information to and from the Distribution Center and Home Office by building and maintaining a strong communication network; ensuring personnel records are maintained and updated in our various HR systems, including Workday and Kronos; managing and monitoring all training programs to ensure they are completed on time and training is recorded in PlayerLync; assessing the need for talent in relation to business changes, including the need for specific competencies, knowledge, or skills; partnering with the organization’s Talent Acquisition team and temporary staffing agency providers to ensure the best talent pool is available to achieve short and long-term business goals and objectives; providing performance management coaching and feedback on how to improve individual and organizational performance to meet strategic and tactical goals and objectives; and managing and monitoring HR audit compliance, record retention, and DC invoices and supplies.
