Bijoux Inc. Looking for DESIGNER – Soft Goods at New York, New York Full Time

Wholesale Backpack Company is seeking a Designer who has 2+ years’ experience in soft goods product design such as backpacks, lunch bags, duffels, and totes. In this role you will be part of a team and report to the Senior Designer, responsible for trend research, innovative product solutions and storytelling that will help create future product assortment for all brands.

Responsibilities of Designer:

• Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of soft goods constructions with a strong ability to design and develop products that function well, have marketable features, and meet production requirements.
• MUST be thorough when executing technical specs. Proofreading and cross-referencing information from multiple sources before passing off is essential.
• Research and analysis of cultural, product, and consumer trends (style, color, fabrication, prints, shapes, trims).
• Must be proficient in Adobe Suite programs, especially Illustrator & Photoshop.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite programs, especially PowerPoint & Excel.
• Sketch designs as part of a cohesive seasonal collection aligned with the brand’s overall aesthetic and vision.
• Build accurate technical CAD renderings and views to communicate visually with China factory. 
• Correspond with factory on daily basis during product development to ensure information is conveyed and deadlines are met.
• Must be able to design print artworks in repeat from scratch.
• Design seasonal hangtags for all accounts including description and artwork.
• Assist in tracking and approving lab dips, prototypes, and other development materials.
• Coordinate with product development to receive all prototypes and assist team with all product corrections.
• Perform retouching and manipulation of product images for all accounts.
• Assist in developing social media and website assets such as photos, ads, and banners.
• Prioritize and manage multiple projects within design specifications and budget restrictions.
• Impactful visual and verbal communication and presentation skills for varied audiences.
• Ensure projects are completed with high quality and on schedule.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaborate in a team environment.
• Capable of taking direction and constructive criticism.
• Must possess a positive spirit and continuously innovates to achieve great results
