Description:
Betches Media is seeking a part-time sex and dating writer who will write content for the Betches site. Candidates with experience writing about relationships, sex and dating, and other lifestyle categories and trends will have the most fun in this role, which will report to the Associate Life editor and work closely with all editorial team members.
The ideal candidate is a huge Betches fan, a creative thinker, and an excellent storyteller with unique ideas. You should have sound writing skills, fantastic attention to detail, SEO experience, a strong journalistic background (emphasizing excellent news judgment), and an interest in thinking outside the box regarding pitching and story ideation.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Write relationships and lifestyle stories in addition to evergreen content
- Update existing articles for voice, accuracy, and SEO best practices
- Produce 2-3 stories a day around trending lifestyle topics, dating trends, SEO sex stories, and other news
- Diligently track all things relationship and lifestyle as well as TikTok/social media trends throughout the day
- Work closely with the Associate Life editor on story assignments
- Ensure all content aligns with Betches editorial standards
- Be an enthusiastic member of the team, continuously offering fresh ideas and pitches
- Be comfortable with first-person storytelling and understand the Betches tone
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of relevant writing experience for an online publication
- Demonstrated interest in multiple areas of relationship and lifestyle content, including sex and dating, health and wellness, fashion and beauty, travel, and more
- A passion and comfort for writing about sex and dating
- Experience and interest in SEO
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about Betches Media
- Ability to give and receive constructive feedback
- A strong understanding of the Betches voice and what makes a Betches story
- Capable of working within tight deadlines and ability to work flexible hours
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Breaking news experience a plus
Compensation:
The hourly rate for this role is $25.
